Carshalton's brand new dance school is led Jo Evans - ex Royal Ballet trained performer and an experienced teacher of 27 years. As well as performing in London's top theatres as a professional ballerina and later as a West End performer. Not only is Jo a renowned performer, but she is also an teacher of 27 years experience, running a very successful and established dance school in Surrey. However, pupils at Carshalton Dance Centre will also benefit from her wealth of knowledge as a ballet examiner, and she has recently been given the role of Deputy Head of Children's Examinations at the prestigious I.S.T.D. (one of the world's most renowned dance syllabi).
Jo will be able to nurture the children at Carshalton Dance Centre from both a performer's and an examiner and teacher's viewpoint. The school will be starting in September 2021, and will offer ballet to children of all ages from toddler and pre-school to teenagers and Advanced Levels. Joanne is also a Licentiate trained teacher and other member of the team have also gained this high qualification, so the team as a whole are specialists in this field.
Carshalton Dance Centre will also offer Modern Dance, Commercial Street, Contemporary, Tap and Musical Theatre and will be offering many performing opportunities for the children both locally and in London. Having a diverse programme of dance disciplines means the dance school can cater for today's dancer, whether it be classical or commercial.
